    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Sounds like a good deal to me, but before buying I'd do some research first on German forums :)

Targa make pretty good solid stuff. Especially laptop accessories.

Yeah, Targa make a lot of their school monitors - they're pretty reliable, considering all the monitors are 7 years old with 100% reliability thus far. (Finally figured out where I had seen 'Targa' while I was in computer class - it was driving me mad! Couldn't recall where for the life of me!)

Did anyone but one of these? Local Lidl still has one left and the wife is pushing to get it. But am not too sure. Could a new owner give their opinions?

£1,000 here in Lidl (about 1,455 euro). Looks like a rebadged Medion (or the Medion is rebadged Targa)

    FYI.
Went into Local LIDL and asked Manager about what happens if I buy the LCD TV and I didn't like the image quality, as they didn't have any out on working display...

He was very nice about it, and understood that I would be buying something that I hadn't seen working and therefore taking a chance. But he said that LIDL have a policy of not accepting back anything of value over €1200!!!

I then asked him what about I buy it, open the box at home and it's damaged?

He said that I would have to deal with the Manufacturer under it's warrenty.

So moral here appears to be that if you're buying something really expensive in LIDL (probably once in a blue moon), you'd better make sure that you know what it's like from a 3rd party before handing over your money...

You'd really want to be able to try something that costs €1699 out before buying though...

Lidl can have all the policies they want, but thankfully there is such a thing as consumer law. ALot of shops hit you with this store policy lark. Find out your rights, and they can waffle on all they want.

Damn right. If the item is faulty when newly opened you take it back to the store where you purchased it along with your receipt, and they must offer to replace or refund all your money.

They are the people who are responsible for dealing with the manufacturers. If they give you that bull****, there is always the Small Claims Court :- very fast and effective service to be had there, and the retailer will get a lot of bad publicity as well.

Personally, to be fair to Lidl , I have never heard of them refusing to immediately refund or replace faulty goods of any value ?.. ;)
