Ok guys Im not being lazy, Im just looking for some educated opinions. :D
Im looking to gut my pc and build a new Athlon64 system. Im keeping all the basic stuff from my current computer (Gateway) case, monitor, disc drives, mouse, psu, etc. So heres what Im looking for:

    - Motherboad
    - HD
    - RAM
    - DVD burner
    - Graphics

Am I leaving anything out? Like I said im just going to upgrade my current setup, I want the new system for games, video editing, internet etc.

Thanks in advance, your advice is much appreciated as always!

Well, if you want to change the motherboard, you'll most likely have to dump the case too, as, unless Gateway have changed how they work, the backplate (where all the connectors come out) will have to be changed, and last I knew Gateway didn't let you do this with their cases.

So better add a little extra onto the budget.

You may not "need" to change the case as a lot of gatwayse used standard atx form factor mainboards so it depends on the new board you buy. If your new board has non standard layout the backplate will be included. You will definitely have to change the power supply. Be carful to get the correct type for the case as some Gateway power supplies were not standard . You would probably be safest buying a new case,

Thanks for all those replies guys, I really appreciate it. Looks like I might use the komplett pc builder after all...

BTW, just found out my power supply is only 200W!

200w might be ok, give it a go...

I have two old gateway cases, and both will take a standard atx board

Can th ebackplate be removed though, or will it have to be broken for the mothboard to be connected to the peripherals?

For a AMD64???? They need a decent PSU not Gateway rubbish.

You can buy a new case with a PSU for €50-60. Why bother keeping the old one?

Not that the case I have now i great, but do you think I could get a decent case for that price? I mean good build quality and a good psu?

    Thanks.

Antec SLK range are solid on a budget - computerbits.ie and itdirect.ie stock em I think

THE SLKBQE(1650/2650) part of the range is a great compromise between price, quietness and good looks
