The hard drive is usually in one of two places:

    - Behind a small rectangular edge "lid" along one edge of the underside,
secured with a single small screw - remove the screw and lid, and
the hard drive slides out (usually with a pull tape)

    OR:

    - Underneath a 2.5" drive-sized bit of plastic somewhere on the
underside of the case, probably with one or two screws near one
end (the other end being secured with plastic hook-in tabs)

Along the way, you'll probably find where to add expansion memory...

One's an AJP (http://www.ajp.co.uk) Pentium 2, the other is a Toshiba Satellite.

    Both Circa 1996.

P.s. Only time I've ever replaced a Laptop HD was in one of these http://www.dve.net/website/images/kioskpages/sunsurfer.jpg .

If memory serves the HD on the Tosb is under the keyboard.
You had to remove the entire front section, I think it just clipped off.
It was about 5 years ago when I did it so....hope it helps

What does it look like? In the internet kiosks it was about the sixe of a ten box of cigarettes but only as thick as a CD case.
