When I start Half-Life 2 I am warned that the video driver appear to be outdated and could cause problems if I choose to continue and run the game. When I continue, the game crashes due to video problems.

I have an AJP 8050D with a ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 video card with 6.14.10.6422 display driver. It wont allow me install any of the newer drivers the exact error is "inf error. video driver not found" and then "setup was unable to complete the install. try to set up your display adapter with a standard vga driver before running setup".

I use the latest version of the display driver available from AJP support, since ATI customer care is unable to offer drivers for notebooks because display drivers supplied with a given notebook has been customized.

ATI recommend that I should obtain a driver update from AJP, but they don’t have a update.

I know theres other people out there with this problem but i have not seen a fix for it yet. Any ideas Lads this is f***ing killing me, im on the verge of going over to ati wired to the hilt with c4 n blowing them all to hell.(in a nice way!)

Any feed back on this would be greatly appreciated...
