I have exmas at christmas. I think it's a good idea in general. Last year all my exams were at summer, so I had exams on stuff I hadn't seen in months. This year I have a lot of project work so I'm glad only about half of my course this semester have christmas exams.

You can get yourslef out of this quite easy, but you may find yourself back in it next year when you're repeating. :)

Oh cry me a river you bleeding heart socialist. Exams at christmas arent an attmempt by Big Brother to further infringe on freedom or any crap like that, its just a much better system of education whereby students are given the opportunity to be tested on stuff thats fresh in their minds. its the exact same thing as doing one big exam split in two, only you have a better chance of succeeding. You should join the SU with an attitude like that.

I have 6 exams one after and other in 6 days :( To top that off I have to do my first final project report at the same time and get a working prototype of my project handed in.....in the second semester I will have 2 exams and I will be doing nothing. Not that it matter since at that stage I will already have failed

According to a billboard I spotted at Connolly this morning, the Darts (northbound and southbound) are back running for the first three weekends in December, so you should be able to commute to Blackrock on the Saturday without a bother!

As for the Christmas exams, believe me they may seem painful now but you will be so relieved to have them behind you and can start with a clean slate next semester! I know I was last year anyway. Best of luck!

i wasnt referring to the giving out about exams, i was referring to the attitude that the higher powers are just toying with the common student.

It's probably better than having to sit everything in the summer counting for 100%. I don't have anything this christmas, but I've got Japanese at the end of february.

MatthewVII are you Brady's puppet or what?
Is your philosophy Preach the Evil of this college?
Have you any exams, on top of projects, homework sheets, reports and presentations? I think not or you wouldn't be preaching the evil.

wonder if Brady reads this and you're just sucking up to him.
    oh well, just a thought

I'm not sucking up to brady nor being his puppet, im just a realist who accepts that the way things are now isnt going to change. No point bickering about something which you have no control over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

Just because we can't change something, doesn't mean we can't bitch about it! If that was the case, there wouldn't be so many sites from around the world giving out about George W Bush.
And what's your problem with socialists?

I take it you're not studying English?

The thing that anoys me is when people can do something to change it and they just bitch. Even if that something is write a letter. (Or post to a forum :) ).

Most people lump socialists with the groups that are frequently organising protests, so they associate socialists with complainers.

Yes and wouldn't the world be a great place if everybody thought like that, and throughout history everybody had thought like that

    Your'e not a realist.

edit: personal abuse, take a weeks ban :) - uberwolf

see MatthewVII, you just can't win.

On another note, why is everyone calling each other a socialist. What the **** is a socialist anyway? People are just abusing the word without knowing what it means.

Yes magpie, you're right I don't take English. I'm guessing you take it though.
I bet you're just trying to find all the grammer mistakes everyone makes.
Please say it isn't so. Now the pressure of making sure everythings perfect is really affecting me.

this is becoming thunderdome material. Keep it above the belt.

Im pretty sure a socialist is someone who believes that the economy of a country, as well as the means of production and distribution of the companies incorporated in that economy, should be under the control of the workers.

@ Rainbow Kirby- you're probably right, but in true MatthewVII fashion i'm just going to pretend it never happened and carry on being arrogant.
