lathe/ router

    Can someone explain to me how both of these items work. Do you need a lathe to use a router and vice versa

    HI
    A router is a hand tool ( very dangerious) for putting moldings on timber
    A lathe is a tool for turning out spindals on (well not only spindals) for your stairs

    bench routers are also available. really useful for running off long lengths for skirtings/architraves
