It's beginning to drive me demented!

Every time I open windows media player or click into the media library a message notifies me that I'm not connected to the internet.

Is there any way to turn this off and save whatever sanity I've still left?

Go into settings and change the net connection stuff that WMP uses

Other than that go to internet connection properties and click "never dial my default connection"

Never mind Winamp get Foobar2000...its betta :D

    Thanks A Lot!

Which brings me to my next question about window media player - why can't I copy large quantities of music to a DVD (and before some wiseass says it, I do have a DVD rewriter!)?

The media player doesn't seem to recognize any blank DVD in the drive (and I am using the correct type of blank DVD!). I think it's some fault in the application and somebody said that there's a patch/fix on-line or something!

I want to back up large quantities of vinyl that I've placed as MP3s on my computer, in case of a problem. Any suggestions taken, including other applications?

I've never used media player for burning (didnt know it had it until recently) but would dedicated burning software not be better?
Or even the one that comes with windows if it can reconise dvd's.
(been using winamp for years cause i didn't like mp hence my previous post and i didnt know how to solve your problem)

I remember many moons ago when i tryed burning with WMP. Bad idea. It takes to feckin long. Save your playlist as a .m3u playlist in WMP (File > Save playlist as) and call it whatever you like (songs.m3u). Then go into nero and select create new audio cd. Locate the file songs.m3u and drag it across. It will extract the .m3u playlist and copy over each song you had in your playlist in order as they were. Works perfectly for me.

MP only lets you burn audio cd's. afaik, you cant make an audio dvd atm.

use nero to burn a data disk with mp3's.

From Nero 6 onwards (its @ 6.6 now) if you want to burn an audio cd (for stereos) you just have to dump on mp3's and nero converts them as part of the burning process. Nero is really excellent. WMP is for playing music and looking at pretty visualisation...I would never ever use it for burning cd's having used Nero and Clone Cd (for my images and stuff)
