dumb question: can dvd writers also write cds

    as it says in the topic? can any dvd writers also burn cds? or do you need seperate drives?

    yes yes they can

    the latest dvd writers can write cd's almost as fast as a dedicated cd rewriter

    check out the offering from nec, nec 3500A i believe it is

    data

    And strangely enough, DVD/CD writers seem to be almos as cheap as DVD/CD combo drives (the old combined DVD reader + CD Writer drives).
    The NEC ND3500 is less than €70 on komplett, which is practically giving them away. A combo drives is about €50, why would anyone buy that when you get a DVD writer for €20 more?
