Cheap Colour Printing

Does anyone know where to get cheap colour printing done from disc, (printing of A4 sheets) in Dublin city centre or northside.

I know Reads are consistently cheap and quality printers but the queues in there can be long. Would go in there if I had the time.

Does anyone know anywhere else. Most others printers I have had experience with are just rip-off merchants to the highest degree. Snap Printing is a case in point - their prices are just laughable.

Have you thought about getting your own printer at all? Bought a new PC last month and couldnt believe how much printers have come down in price.

With the amount money you'll spend on printing from an agent you could probably end up saving money in the long run by buying your own!

    Just a suggestion.

AFAIK, good laser color printers are going for around €750 plus ink at around €100 a throw (even refilled cartridges) dont have that kind of dough at the moment though!

You can get quality colour from inkjets costing far less than €750 these days, especially if you use the right paper. What is it that you are printing, and what sort of volumes?

Colour inkjets start at €70-80 (Hp 3420, 3550, Epson c46 etc)
BUT A SET OF REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES = €26 black, €27 colour (can be had a LOT less if ordered online, search bargain board).

I believe cheap injets are false economy as THE MID RANGE MODELS TAKE CARTRIDGES WITH DOUBLE THE CAPACITY (300-400 B+W, 5% coverage (average short letter, no header) FOR THE SAME MONEY (+ FAR better printing in terms of speed and quality) - In general ...
HP = Very good text, good resolution photos but poor colour representation
Epson = Good text, good photos, very good colour - bastard fast text if you go midrange draft.
Canon = like Epson really, cheaper refils,.
Lexmark = Like Hp but with refill prices to make a sultan weep.

Colour Lasers start at about €550.
NOT SO GOOD FOR PHOTOS (4 colour toner simply doesn't match the latest inkjets) - Very, very good text.
REFILL ARE CRAZY (around 4 X €100, can be had cheaper online but I don't know the prices off hand)

Me, I have a B+W HP 1000W (HIGHLY recommended, VERY cheap €150) laser for the grunt work (try get one that takes a large (4000 page) cart, ie not a 1010, 1012 or 1015 model which take a 2500 page unit) and an Epson for the occasional colour (NB : if it's very occasional colour buy a Canon or HP as they have either replaceable heads (canon) or cartridge integrated ones (HP) for when they get blocked.

I thought inkjets were better than laser for photos allright.
