I like the way they've changed the context of it. Sure, it's a little lazy, but it's got a whole lot more "believability" than a seemingly-unstoppable gang wrecking the place for no reason.

I dunno, Precinct 13 was a zombie flick by another name.Giving the faceless cholo's some sorta motivation kinda detracts if anything from the charm.Still ill proabably watch it,especially if they reuse or re-do the score

Why? I loved the Dawn of the Dead remake because they did something slightly different with it, and made it into more of an "event"-type movie (and I love event-type movies).

And at least this looks better than Ghosts of Mars, which was Assault on Precinct 13 by another name.

Actually it was meant to be a remake of Rio Bravo (also a dash of Fort Apache) - but it really does have that Zombie Feel.

Ill take your word on that, but there are some parallels with NotLD that have to be more than a coincidence: Powerful black protagonist,shellshocked innocent, eerie anonamous fell of the gangbangers etc

The thing is a remark of the 1951 original

Though the original doesn't feature as cool a bad guy and the line "guys I know you've all been through alot, but when you get a moment I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THE F*CKING COUCH"
