Need to buy a photo printer for a Christmas present. It needs to be able to read media directly (without it being connected to a computer), to be specific, an XD card as used in a Fuji digital camera

The HP Photosmart 375 seems to fit the bill. It has a built-in 2.5" lcd screen and options to zoom in and / or out. Also @ €220 ex shipping from Jes computer, it's also within budget

Would appreciate your thoughts, as I'm a n00b in this area :)

I was going to buy a photo printer recently, and after quite a bit of research, that photosmart 375 was the one I was going to get. Before you take the plunge, check ink refill prices and the cost of printer paper (word "on the street" was that you can end up with crappy prints if you don't use HP paper in that printer because of the wheel that moves the picture through the printer).

Only reason I didn't buy it is that I found http://www.photobox.ie where I upload my photos and they send me out proper prints. Ah, the laziness :)

Thanks Khannie for your advice. I'll go for that one so

The cost of paper and cartridges is not important in this case. The printer will only print a few pages a week / month. The person I'm buying for does not want to use a computer :)

It only prints 4" by 6" pictures though. Anybody know a similar solution that prints A4?
