Advice on Orks, please?

I got the urge to start playing properly again a little while ago, and seeing as I mostly collected Orks, it's a good place to start back.

My army has no real planning behind it, I really just bought/painted stuff that looked nice. Anyway:

The Warboss and his retinue are mostly kitted with 'eavy armour and big shootas, and about 5 (of 10) of the Nobz have power klaws. There's a solid mob of Slugga Boyz (just shy of 30), a small mob of maxed-out Flash Gitz, about 20 Gretchin, a small mob of Stormboyz, a warbike squadron, wartrakk with blasta, a Dreadnought, and looted Basilisk.

What would you recommend I add to it? Personally, I think I need more Boyz, probably a Shoota mob. Given the amount of Marine players, I think it would be a good idea to get some more heavy firepower in there, so maybe a Tankbusta or Burna mob would be handy too, or some killa kans...

I have a large trukk and the makings of a battlewagon, too. What are other Ork players' experiences with their Warboss and co. in a transport? It seems like a good idea, but I'm not sure I'd like to risk them all getting hurt by one shot.

You defo need more boyz. Stick some in a trukk and send them as cover for your warboss trukk. A good tatic is to run your war boss trukk behind a squad of bikes cause of the save bonus

Have you considered Speed Freeks? They seem quite a fun army, and as you have a reasonable ammount of vehicles already, that might be a good theme to go with.

Though as a Space Woof player you'll likely claim it was the Transvestite Legion anyway <G>

has anyone here ever experanced a Diehard Gretchen??
Don't happen much in 3rd ed, but on rare ocasion the Dice would take a liking to a single Grot, and well.......

I had a little talk with some other folks the other day, and hairyheretic's suggestion seems to be the way forward. Bad Moon Speed Freeks, whizzing about in the most expensive trukks and nikes they can find. Yay!

Possibly another boatload of grots, too. Little blighters are great for tying up important units... :)

I recall it was the Imperial Fists. You're both wrong. :)

Actually I think it was either Dark Angels or White Scars :) I could dig up the issue of White Dwarf but I have no idea which one it is and cant be bothered looking :)

I thought it was a chapter with a specialist attack unit, like the ravenwing (or in the case of White Scars ... white scars on bikes). I recall because I remember the little story they had attached where an ork cops on that black bikes = ravenwing = dark angels = deathwing = 'ard fight.

Hmm, I'm thinking of the battle report showcasing the 3rd Ed rules in White Dwarf. It was definately Fists versus Adrian Wood's Orks, and had a diehard gretchin moment that won him a vital table quarter in the last turn.

Also, last night I accidentally sat on a bag full of my models. :(

Ouch sarky, much damage? and most important, much irrepairable damage?

My extra-large trukk needs some TLC (and lots of poly cement), some bikes lost their guns, and a load of zombies I had for Mordheim will never be the same. :(

Curse my manly frame, CURSE IT I SAY!
