Fine, so it crashed 4 times.
Why is it so useless? please someone tell me and reccomend other good web browsers.

It is incapable of strenous tasks on a 3Ghz computer with 512mb RAM.
    Useless cr@p

    [/rant]

now, has anyone else experienced such problems?
or have you found it a very good piece of software?
are there any other good web browsers out there?

That link didn't work for me so I'm gonna butt in and say:

    Firefox!

Savage browser and much safer. Not flawless but read up about it and consider it. Boards.ie is full of discussions (computer board esp.) and follow the link in my signature!

yeah, but that isn't great and I was wondering idf it has happened to anyone else.
And if there are any other better browsers

There are many theories. Somebeing that Microsoft don't value security that highly and hence there are big holes. Some say that out of the box it's unsecure and you must do some work to make it secure, work the average non-techie user doesn't know about or know how to do. Some say that since Microsoft have conquerored the browser market and won the first browser war, that they don't see the need to invest in mainting/upgrading Internet Explorer/ (Hopefully Mozilla/Firefox will scare them :))

What is there besides Firefox? Well the main Mozilla browser/suit it popular. There's also Opera.

Yep, coincidentally I just started using Firefox today thanks to all the good words I read about it on another boards thread. Early days of course but I'm very impressed so far. Looks like I’ll finally be saying goodbye to Microsoft’s Interminable Excrement.

The core developers from the early Netscape days left and started up Mozilla who created [along with the community] Firefox, and also the Mozilla browser. Firefox is better then Netscape.

Netscape is a repackaged Mozilla, don't bother using it just stick with Firefox which is far better then IE. Just make sure you know about all the extra features in Firefox compared to IE, otherwise you will not see the full benefit of Firefox over IE.

I reckon the problem lies somewhere between the keyboard and the chair, maybe there could be a poll.. If you are looking at sites cobbled together with bits of ripped off code and dodgy cartoons hen most browsers would take the honourable route out.

Your diagnosis could be correct Capt'n; especially when the past behaviour of the candidate is taken into account ;)

And between the left and the right ear to narrow it down further. You got extensive advice on the other thread, omnicorp. Why do you keep asking the same questions?

They wouldn't download for some reason!?
    Anyone know why?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,208 ✭✭✭✭aidan_walsh

Yes. Its because the internet hates you.

Really, we're going to need an error message... Do you go to the doctor and simply say "I'm sick. Can you tell me why?"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,249 ✭✭✭omnicorp

well, it's something to with, "Thsi ndocument can't be downloaded until Firefox is restarted"
    I did; several times.

You mean the plugin won't be started until you restart? You have to close all instances of Firefox before they register.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,249 ✭✭✭omnicorp

    I did.
    Like I just said.
