Just wondering about these videos on the web:

    Movie trailers,
    Artist music videos,

They usually open a small file that leads to another full video file. If you open wordpad you can see the second URL, but does this still mean they're restricted?

    For instance...
What about this kinda of URL: _rtsp://real.*****.com/Fullvideo.mov

Is there any way to actually get the full file, in theory anyways? ;)

There are programs that'll let you record/save streaming video/audio.
Can't think of any names offhand, but google is always a good starting point methinks.

Yeah I tried Screen Movie 1.2 for something else a while back and all it recorded was blankness.

It'd be easier if you could just save the file using the URL?! :)

It sure would... they're so inconsiderate tbh.

Have a look at Streambox. Altho Real Networks did sue them and they took it off the market but you can still download it.

Streambox VCR I think is the name of one of those programs. Although I think Real Media recording was taken out of the latest versions at Real's request. (version 1.0 beta 31 "FlyingRaichu+SMFfix" works for me)

If you download, say a .ram file and there's a http address inside it when you open it in Notepad, you should be able to download the file at that address.

But if it's an rtsp:// address you'll need Streambox.

Ok I've found it on the web. It mentions it's illegal to use in the U.S. because of Real. Apparantly it's not free either...I'll give it a go but I'm still open to other suggestions!
