    Running Suse 9.2 on Lin box, WinXp Sp2 on other.

    Win box can read and write to Lin box shares no problem.
    Lin box can read and execute on Win box share no problem.

    However, cannot figure out how to give write access in non root account to the Lin box to the Win box share.

    Problem (i think ) lies in the fact i can only mount in su mode ..thus the winmount is owned by root and regular user cannot write..just read and execute.

    Would like to add something like the below to fstab ..
     //winmachine*/winsharename  /linfoldername   smbfs    defaults,users,auto,umask=0222   0 0

    * = In mount i normally just put ip of winbox, is network name needed in fstab ?

    However i dont know the syntax of where to put the username and password bits in fstab.

    Anyone can help ?
