    Hi guys,

I thought you might like to see this teaser trailer for Pendragon's War of the Worlds due out next Spring. I have been aware of this project for sometime, as well as Spielberg's one, and being a huge fan of the book, I really cant wait to see them both.

I had high hopes for Pendragon's faithfully adapted version (directed by Timothy Hines) set in victorian England but this teaser trailer looks a bit pants tbh. I'm certainly looking forward to Paramount's version with Spielberg, set in modern times (due out June 29th 2005), right now it seems it's the most expensive film ever made, Steven said he would "spare no expense" and wants to make it "the film event of the decade".

Lets hope the final version of Hines' film is a worthy adaptation of H.G. Well's masterpiece. At least, Spielberg's modern telling should be a great piece of entertainment.

Here is a teaser poster for I believe Hine's version (eery):

    What do you think?

From what I've read of the Pendragon version of the War of the Worlds, they're approaching the project with a great love of the source material and a real desire to do it justice. However, having seen the trailer for their previous production "Chrome", I'm left worrying about just how far this love will carry them. The teaser does not look hopeful.

However, to be fair, they're not far into post-production, so they couldn't show many of the more dramatic elements of the story, because these would all involve special effects which presumably aren't finished yet.

Let's hope they can use some of those special effects to remove some of that stiff acting.
