Lookign for a manual uninstall guide for this,
I've been searching the symantec website to no avail and Add/Remove won;t work.

When I use my server to try re-installing to the client machine it fails with the message "client is already installed on machine" , but I know this client to be non-functioning.

So basically I'm looking for a step by step guide to ripping this off the client so I can remote reinstall. And I think it's a reg setting thats killing the reinstall , hence i need to flush the reg of all reference to ghost.

Failing that , any advice from people who experienced this before.

    Thanks
    Fionn

How do you know the client is not working, if its a communication issue have you made sure the client is on the domain and you have the right permissions, and made sure there are no errors in your required task? Anyway to uninstall.. on the Tools menu in the console there should be an uninstall option when you've clicked on the required computer... if not symantec ghost should be listed in the add/remove programs on the client.

Thanks Cali , we use a common hardware platform in the subnet of this machine , all other machines respond well , this machine in particular was the test box for the subnet.

The task works fine on all others. connectivity is there and permisions are full/full.

Because of the testing on this server I can no longer see it in the Ghost console , which is the main problem i'm having.

Is there a way to get the ghost console to re-scan for clients ?? or does it do it at startup ?

Basically i'm left with a client mahine with a duff istall and a server that no longer see the machine , even though they can communicate freely over the network (tested this a few mins ago again)

    Thanks for the reply

Oops sorry for the wait.. had a reply written then it got lost somewhere.. anyway I think Ghost just scans at startup, it tends to keep inactive machines listed, which can be a problem if you change network card in a machine as its all done by MAC address, I can't think of anyway of rescanning while the console is open (used corp. edition in my last job.. but don't have it here).
