Symbyosis - well worth checking out

these guys are putting out a double album which will be funded by subscription. There's heaps of mp3's of their stuff on their site, though it is a bit bandwidth heavy. It's quality stuff, very high quality music and musicianship. Just when we thought 2004 was gonna be a bit of a let down

Hmmm, not sure tbh, it's death metal, quite technical, sometimes very fast, sometimes quite slow, odd bit of keyboards every now and then, really impressive guitar playing... sounds good to me.

Yeah, I've got a lot of time for bands who are doing their own thing and when it's this kind of quality, they've got may support.

aye, but I prefer Death Apogee, however all the tunes have that something that appeals to me.

while I might not all of the tunes, there are parts of each tune that in some way, make me take notice - this could be anything from vocals, drumming, guitars, etc.

i downloaded the two drum solos from the site, and while not my usual expectation of 300 beats a second death metal style, it is nice to hear jazz stylings being used in the solos

Yeah, the whole package is impressive, from the site itself to the tunes to the way they're doing their new album. I'm surprised and tbh disappointed I haven't heard of them before. Symbyosis is better than most of their peers, I reckon. Great band. Roll on that new album.

And I really, really like the guitar playing. Very impressive :cool:
