    Requested file not found?

You trying to listen to audio / watch video from behind a firewall? (i.e. in work)

i had this with the RTE website.

I re-installed Real Player, downloaded some add-on when prompted, and it now works MOST of the time.

If I am using RTE website and it doesn't work, I just re-try. Usually works in 1-2 further attempts. Additionally, if it freezes on the 'Eircom' ad at the start, I have to fast fwd, and that usually gets past it.

Thanks Ste- for that that link/AD works with my player!!! If I by-pass my player and use the BBC player I can listen to some progs.
RTE don't have their own player, wanted to listen back to various shows.
BTW Ste- where did get the pnm://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/worldservice/gbr.ra link/AD from!!!!
Any more help so I can listen back on my Real Player would be most welcome!!!

Instead of selecting the link (left clicking with mouse) on the Global business news, if you right click on the link and choose 'save target as.' (or whatever your internet browser says), you can save the 'ram' file to your desktop.
If you open this file with notepad you can see the URL/link that the file is linking to - in this case the link Ste- gave.

There are programs which you can get that will download the shows in their real format.
But as they are copyrighted to the BBC that would be illegal.
But it can be done ;)

Go it working and this the reason it didn.t play!!!
    Thanks to all!!!

When you try to play a clip with RealPlayer, you may get the following error message:

Requested file not found. The link you followed may be outdated or inaccurate.

This error may have one of several causes:

The address or file no longer exists.
    - If you were trying to access a Web site, it may no longer be available online, or it may have been moved to a different address.

    - If you were trying to play (or replay) a live broadcast, the broadcast may have ended and the file for it is no longer available on that Web site. If the broadcast was streamed from a particular Web site, you can search that site for archived copies of the broadcast. Not all sites archive their broadcasts, however.

    The address was entered incorrectly.
    - If you typed (or pasted) an address in the RealPlayer Address bar, be sure that you included the entire address. Double-check the spelling and all capitalization within the address. Some servers are case-sensitive and incorrect capitalization will prevent RealPlayer from locating the file.

Your temporary folder is full or contains a corrupt file.
    - If the "Requested file not found" error is followed by an error with the text "file:\\C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE..." the problem could be caused by a full or corrupt file within the Temporary Internet Files folder.

To avoid this error, you can clear those saved files:

    1. In RealPlayer, click Tools, then Preferences.
    2. In the Category pane under Connection, click Internet / Privacy.
    3. Click the Change Settings button. The Internet Properties window opens.
    4. Click the General tab.
    5. In the Temporary Internet files area, click Delete Files, and then click OK. It may take some time to delete all the files.
    6. In the History area, click Clear History.
    7. Click Yes in the window that pops up. Again, it may take a while to delete all the files.
    8. When this is completed, click OK and restart your system.

For Mac OS X users, the problem could be because of a corrupt RealAudio Metafile (.RAM file) in the Temporary Internet Folder also.

    - Your browser stores temporary files in a folder on your hard drive for later use, and it also remembers where you have been on the Internet. If either location contains a corrupt file, you may get the error message.

To correct this problem, clear the cache in the Safari browser:

    1. Open Safari browser.
    2. From the menu, click on Safari.
    3. Click on Empty cache.
    :):):)
