folder called El Perron.MICROSOF-CUQ7G8 appeared in my documents and settings, is it supposed to be there??? any ideas?

It could be malicious hyper text template..
In My Documents and Settings Folder, try this.

Go to:[Tools].Folder Options...
And then check in [View] tab if tick box is selected,
for text..

"Hide file extensions for known file types"

de-select it, and see if ts got .htt as extension...i mean
the file you are asking about: El Perron.MICROSF-..

Also, see what the contents of it are with notepad.
If it has encrypted garbage in it, or some reference
to vbscript/jscript/COM, then it could possibly be a malicious script,
you got from the internet.

But, it could also just be a harmless file installed by some
software you recently started using.

To get rid of it, would probably require anti-virus update,
or maybe some code to search your computer and delete them
all.
might have placed itself in some registry entries also.

other than that, i couldn't tell you what it is.
