Yeah - definitely a good buy - you can cook almost anything in them - and they cook it much quicker than frying or grilling coz it can do both sides at the same time.

    Easy to clean too.

Buy it! - deadly - I got the big one with the timer - nice thick steak, 10 minutes, fantastic.

The best thing I like to cook in them is sliced up chicken fillets - takes less than 5 minutes!

    Ok thanks for the feedback

But where'd you buy them and any ideas on bargains?!

Dunnes Stores, Argos or any electrical shops. MAybe try PowerCity - they usually have a good few bargains going.

they have a big george forman grill in dunnes at the moment for €58.99 and have seen them pretty cheap in superquinn/supervalu in the last few weeks

Roches Stores is having a big one day sale today. up to 25% of electrical stuff (and everything else). They sell the George Foreman grill there so you might get it cheaper.

I usually give them a good wipe with a damp cloth when the plates are still a little hot - makes the dirt come off a lot easier. Ive had mine almost a year and its fine.

    3 Questions:

Removable plates? I looked tonight and didn't see that on ANY of them? What's that about? I know the spill tray is removable but are you talking about the actual cooking surfaces?

    Anyone cook vegtables on these?

Ever managed to cook an egg without losing it down the tray?!

yeah stick something under it to make it level!

yeah dunnes have them as said above, big one is €58.99 and small one is €32.99, well worth it makes the best toasted sandwiches by far.

best toasties cos everything inside is warm.. unlike when you do 'em in the grill!

Went to the Roches Stores sale and picked up a Prestige Smartgrill there. Same idea as the Foreman one but slightly cheaper and with temperature control.... Hope it's of use...

Cheers. I actually went to buy the big George one tonight but all that was left was the display model, which looked dodgy and I've had bad experiences with that sorta thing.

So I'll buy it elsewhere tomorrow.

I've decided to go for the big (4 chicken breast + veg) size one even though it's just for me cos I eat a lot and like the idea of being able to fit more than just 1 peice of meat on. There doesn't seem to be an 'in between' size available but sure 35ish vs. 55ish seems tempting to go for the big one! They all seemed to have temp. control.

I couldn't figure out why they sell a second rectangular big one for 98 either. I mean it looks the same size as the 50 quid one and is even analogue! It had a big handle on it. Any ideas why?

Here's the one I wanna get.

I got a small foreman then a tefal minute grill with removal plates
removal plates so much easier to clena
it has a water reservoir too which makes steaks etc more succulent,

    Great things for making fajiats

coat the chicken in some cajum mix, grill beside some peppers and onions

    yummy
