    Hi I'm upgrading a Gateway 500LS

I have the s/n but can't find a record of it on their site.
I can't find the 500 LS in google!

I want to upgrade the proc from the 500mhz P3 slot 1 to a P3 1ghz and am wondering about compatibility.

There is no os on the machine so i cant' run a bios tool.
Does anyone know anything about the motherboards on these machines?
    Will they take this chip?

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

I don't know about any 1 GHz slot 1 P3 cpu, but I might be wrong. I thought they were all socket 370...

They came as slot 1 and socket 370 with 100 and 133mhz fsb.

The US site only accepts US serials.

get the first 4-5 digits of your BIOS and enter it into this search page.

The info can be very vague though.
