    It has been a while, but yes.
    The first 4 books were excellent, a very well realised world of machiavellian politics and hi-tech weaponary. The best thread was where the good/bad guys seem so interchangable. The later books were only fair and the plot seemed very muddled.

    Other books similar to these,
    Reality Dysfucntion Series by Peter Hamilton
    Foreigner Trilogy by CJ Cherryh,
    Both about different societies (alien, human, other)and their interactions (+ lots of action.)
