Screen is blank!

When I got home yesterday and started my pc, the screen is blank. Nothing whatsoever. I did hear a long beep from my motherboard so I presume there's something wrong. Since I haven't installed any hardware and I was using my pc the night before without any problems, I cant think of what the cause maybe. However, I think probably my graphic card is gone. Unfortunately, I dont have a spare gfx card to test :( I did try my monitor on my laptop and it is working fine. Are my fears true? Is my gfx f@@ked up? :(

Sounds like the graphics card alright, but it could just be loose. Try re-seating it in it's slot and try again.

Depending on the beep it can be loose/faulty ram, hdd bust or cpu.
Double check all connections and try takin ram out and re-inserting.
Worked for me in the past with the ram.

I'll try taking out all the parts today and put it back again. This happened a couple of times in the past but after a couple of boot up, it started to work again but not this time.

Took out the ram but same result :(

If you can, post the sequence of the beeps or look up the manufacturer's site to see what they mean e.g. 1 long beep, two short beeps. In general your computer is trying to tell you why it can't start and the beeps based on your mobo manufacturer will tell you at what point your board is getting stuck.Post the beep sequence & we will see if we can help you :D

If it's an Asus board long beeps in an endless loop mean the Dram is not installed or detected. One long beep followed by 3 short beeps means no video card found or the card's memory is bugered. This applies to an asus a7n8x mobo tho.

open her up and re-seat everything, well at least make sure both RAM and your graphics card are in properly.
Its happened me a good few times where I can move my case and my gfx card comes unseated a bit.
Scares the bejesus outta ya thou..

    Good luck.

I check the manual but it doesnt say anything about the beeps. It has a voice activation thingy which I disable. The thing is, sometimes its 1 beep and sometimes its 2 beeps.
I think I recognice the beep as it has happened before. Usually the beeps means something wrong with my overclocking but once I go into the BIOS and exit, it will be fine.
I am thinking if its the RAM or hard disk, surely there will be something on the screen right? My mobo has a green light on it so I presume the mobo is fine too. Therefore I think the problem may be due to the gfx or the cpu but I cant be sure.

I would think its with the cpu.

    RKM.

You sure its not just your monitor/connector. Are you sure that it didnt beep twice all the time when booting. My system lets out two short beeps at post. Just double checking, sorry if i insulted your intelligence!

Will resetting my bios using the jumper reset my RAID?, as in will I lose everything on my RAID array?

My rig beeps 3 times once its started. Thats normal. The beep I mentioned above are beeps after these beeps. And yes I have check the connection a couple of times. I even tried connecting analogue to my monitor. Still no joy.

Marx computers (see http://www.marx-computers.com/ for details)

Located in North Dublin - very good service, and don't steal stuff from your PC like IT Direct

Thanks snapscan for the Marx Computers info. Sent to them and within 2 days got back to me. Its my graphics card thats the culprit.
I want to rma the graphic card but of course mine has been mod with artic silencer. Can anyone borrow me a sapphire screws and all or exchange it with a artic silencer?
