It finally happened, da wife spilled a bottle of beer all over my IBM thinkpad 600e laptop :o The thing is dead as a dodo! Took it apart and dried as best as I could. Let it sit for a day, still no luck....
Looking for suggestions for a good repair shop in the Dublin area. Anybody got expierence here? Thanks.

    No good news I'm afraid

Beer is fizzy and some brands can reach parts the others can't reach, you are probably looking at cleaning it with distilled water / alcohol / using a water dispersant (can't find the link , thought I'd saved it last week) etc. - ie. by the time the beer is cleaned out you are hopefully only trying to fix a water damaged laptop..

It's an old laptop. Spares may not be available. Technicians time costs money. It's probably beyond ecomonic repair. And even if repaired will never be 100% reliable.
Might be time to price a replacement, the LCD should be Ok and someone may buy it off you. The HDD will probably be ok so it could be removed and put in a USB adaptor to read old data.

A quick google found this - this it the Retail cost of replacement,
eBay or Boards should be a lot less.

    IBTP600/41 IBM Thinkpad 600E, PII 366, 128/6/DVD/FDD £229.99

You could try taking out the battery and FDD/CD ..
