ps2 on an lcd monitor

I want to play my ps2 on my lcd monitor (so I can play san andreas for 10 hours straight without any one in the house trying to kill me) and was wondering about the best way to go about it

I'm not fussy about trying to boost display quality (i.e. higher resolutions, hdtv etc.) once its at or near run of the mill tv quality.

I've heard about the VGA adaptors that use the monitor directly, but I'm finding it difficult to find decent reviews, and success stories.

The other way is with the TV Tuner cards for the PC, but here I'm worried that there will be serious amounts of lag between the controller and the display (as a result of extra processing).

Anybody have any input or already have some sort of set up, and if so how does it fair

    Ta

alliance electric on georges st in dublin have a device that turns lcd monitors into tvs the quality is stunning it will allow you to connect the 3 phono lead output from the ps2 into the standard monitor connection ask for mark and he will show it to you

i take it that it hooks up to the speakers some way yeah and you dont need to keep swapping from pc to "device". Btw how much (approx) is it?

    Hi guys,

I reactivate this thread to ask you a question about this monitor viewsonic vx2835wm sold at 429.50 delivered on dabs.ie

I read some reviews about it saying it is not THE best but it is not too bad at the same time.
Why am I still looking at it? Well mainly because it is an affordable 28" lcd with composite input (for the big old fat ps2 and her sister the black original xbox) which is very RARE.
Do you know any other monitor which would have composite input?

Why am I more interested in a monitor rather than a Tv?
Because I do not watch Tv and I dont wanna pay the licence...

So if you guys have any comments on that, please let me know.

    why?
this monitor is Not a TV. It is a computer monitor without any built-in tuner...
(and in my area there is no way you can get RTE with a simple aerial)
