    Hi there.
I was considering purchasing a 9800Pro card but I read somewhere that your AGP slot must be an AGP 'Pro' slot for the card to work. Is this true or will a standard AGP 4x slot be compatible?
    Thanx

    8x is the standard now.

it will work, but not as good as if u had an 8x AGP slot

    Thanks for that.
Even though it won't run as well as an AGP 8x slot would I notice a big improvement over my currenty card - Radeon 8500 SE 128MB.
If so would the 9800pro physically fit the slot?
    Thanx again

Not as good but still very close to the performance of 8x. The 9800Pro doesnt use all the bandwidth that 8x provides

AGP Pro is different again. It's what some big workstation cards use like 3D Labs cards.

Yes it will fit. The difference between x4 and x8 AGP is TINY and finally yes u will notice a whopping difference in games performance.
