    From today's Sunday Independent:

Makes you wonder how much they make up & how much is true.
IN AN article which we published on October 10, 2004, we wrongly reported that hundreds of Ireland fans attending the France v Ireland soccer match in Paris the previous evening had been "left high and dry" without tickets for the game.

The article stated that supporters who had paid for an "all-in deal" with 747 TRAVEL were told that they would not be given tickets for the match and also stated "many fans were demanding refunds and apologies". The article suggested that 747 TRAVEL had failed to honour contractual agreements entered into with its customers.

We wish to point out that such suggestions/statements were totally incorrect. We accept that every person who travelled with 747 TRAVEL received a ticket for the game and that no fans demanded refunds or apologies. We sincerely apologise to 747 TRAVEL for suggesting otherwise and are happy to publish this correction and apology in recognition of our error.

Would this not be more suited to the news/media forum?

It's dabatable that it is a political matter as the Independent is a major political commentator & if it publishes stories that are untrue, its credibility in the political arena must be affected.
