Ive currently got an nvidia aladdin tnt2 graphics card but im looking to get something a little better in or around the 100 euro mark...just to make the games run a little smoother/more detail...
Im running on Windows 98 Pentium 3 with 256m ram

Also would it be worth my while investing on more ram?

what type of pentium 3 do you have as they started around 450mhz and went to 1+Ghz.

for a start a ram upgrade to 512mb would help and also a new graphics card for games but you'll start to be limited by your processor fairly quickly. a more subsantial upgrade maybe in order but it depends on what you play

Its just under 1Ghz. Roughly how much would the ram cost?
Im not looking for anything too fancy in the graphics stakes, just something to help the likes of Operation Flashpoint, AvP 2 & Hitman, run smoother.

errr... something the equivalent of the gf4ti4600 which is what I used to couple with that spec machine (had one meself) ill get back to u in a bit.

EDIT: Here check this link GFX chart . I used to couple a machine with the same specs as yours with a ti4600 and felt that the rest of the system hampered the GFX card so I would recommend getting a card around that level... Even something like a radeon 9600XT is the usual budget choice but that might be overkill. In fairness for games yur entire system could do with a bit of an overhaul

there is 256mb of CL 3.0 sdram on www.shop4memory.com for 45 euro which is not bad

there is CL 2.0 for about 75 and which its better i'm not sure if its worth it for the money and you prob have CL 3.0 ram already

there is a radeon 9600pro for 99 euro on www.komplett.ie this is probably overkill for you system and the card will be hammered by the cpu but its not a bad card at all even in this day and age and if you did move onto a new system would serve you well for a while
