Problem with Laptop :(

I have a problem with opening a folder on my laptop. :(

    Its a Dell Inspirion 8600.

When i open My Documents i immediately get an error report saying program not responding, then My Documents just close down immediately. :(

The rest of my laptop is working fine except for one program called Spybot that i use to find problems on my PC. I used that to find the problem, it did, but it wont fix it and its supposed to. The problem file is DSO Exploit that was found by Sybot. When i try to fix it using Sybot i find that the program stops responding so then i have to close the program.

I tried a Norton Anti Virus scan but that didnt help. Does anyone have any idea what i can do to get rid of the problem?

    Help very much appreciated! ;)

I'd ctrl-alt-delete and look for the offending prog running in memory.
Heres a good site to tell which is friend or foe

Kill the nasty if you can find it.
Turn off system restore and run your spybot again. ;)

Make sure you run your ad-remove software like spybot in SAFE MODE otherwise a resident program or registry entry will simply put it back or since its in use it cant be removed. If it still cant remove it set it to run on reboot but make sure its in safe mode again when you do it!

Yeh this happened to my computer as well ages ago. It turned out to be spyware or adware or something. I let it get waaaay too infected though cos there were millions of viruses and stuff (shouldnt have opened j-lo.nude.xxx-hardcore.exe ;))

Anyways i ended up just re-formatting cos i didnt have that much important so if i were you id run spyware doctor or something and kill it before it gets too infected

hijack this is another good program to detect startup programs if the adaware or other spyware removers dont work.

get what you need here http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/
hijackthis and CWshredder are a must. Bug off allows you to dissable some of the exploits used.

By the way run Spybot in advanced mode and set it to lock your hosts file, lock your start page and you can also remove any BHO's that should not be there like mysearchbar etc..
