In Meteor in Henry St. today and the price of the 3100 has dropped to €89. Have one myself and highly reccomend it (not much connectivity tho!). Was going to get one for the girlfriend but went for the new 2650 (flip-phone) at €99 instead. Happy Days.

I got one a few months ago. The phone is fine. Battery indicator goes from full to nothing very fast though. Meteor network is rubbish though. I'll get mine unlocked and move back to Vodafone.

    Meteor Network == O2.

Meteor phones will use an o2 mast where there is no Meteor signal.
They came to an agreement during the summer.

Seems like a sweet price Conical (2650 €99) was that for a bill pay/upgrade or was it a fresh out of a box ready to go?. The last time I got a meteor fone they had locked the sim card to that fone so until you had used all the free credit (€80) you had to keep the sim card in that fone,is this still the case?

Yeah all the networks do it now, well that what meteor told me.

And they don't lock the sim card to that fone, they lock the credit to the IMEI number on the phone, so you can't use that sim in any other phone unless you ask meteor to move that credit to another meteor sim.

If you take the sim out and put it into another phone you loose all signal, but you can put a different sim card into the phone, once the phone is unlocked of course.

The networks do this so ppl can't by as many phones as they want i.e. Nokia 3100's €99 with €80 credit, sell them on for €150+ and then just use the credit, but Meteor coped on to this and started to lock the credit to the IMEI number of the hand-set.

    Very clever ;) ...

I have managed to get meteor to re-activate the sim in another fone but what excuse did you use to get them to transfer the credit to another meteor sim?

How did you get meteor to re-activate the sim in another fone ?

And was that sim from one of the buy a phone and get €** credit free ?

I never got them myself to transfer the credit to another meteor sim, but my mate did and he just asked them !

I think he just rang them up and said "Hi, will you put the €** credit on to my old number" afaik !!!

If they did they did it in error! (good for your mate!) normally if you transfer the sim into a diff handset and it locks and this happens 3 times they wont reactivate it again. EVER!!

Sometimes it will happen if you had say 30c credit left on a sim that came with 60e initial credit and then topup, the 30c free credit will still cause it to block!

Vodafone's head of fraud moved to meteor so thats how they copped on to pack splitting, saves them a fortune as all phones subsidised!

Got the 2650 in Meteor on Henry St. Its a PayAsYouGo, so great for the price. Its locked to meteor (...for now...!) but I'm using a different meteor SIM in it, so it mustn't be SIM locked.

Not many features (it doesn't even have the handy loudspeaker of the 3100), otherwise menu's are very similar to 3100. Opening mechanism is interesting, but mightn't take much abuse. Nice design all the same. O2 said they are getting it in in about a week (€99 also)

It still could be sim locked, all Meteor sims work in Meteor locked handsets anyway !
