    Maybe completly unrelated!

I had similiar problems with an iBook. After much tampering and such. I discovered it was bad RAM.

Removed it and hey presto no more problems. Sent back the RAM for a replacement worked a treat since.

    Regards,
    Peter

You did ask for advice? or where you just making a statement?

I considered sending it back but saved myself the hassle of being without the machine for how ever long it would take by resolving the problem myself. All I had to so was send back the bad RAM there was plenty left to run the machine while I awaited a replacement. Now if I didn't find the problem then it would have gone back.

    Thats all,
    Peter

If it's only three days old, send it back and get a new one.

I'd imagine you'd have to pay the cost of sending the machine back to Jes, i think i read on their sites that their the pickup and return guarantee is only valid in Germany :(

Is the version of xp that's currently on your machine the one it shipped with (ie - the german one -you got it from jes right) or have you installed a new version? If it's a fresh install it could be a driver related problem and all jes will do is reinstall the german version to bring it back to it's factory state.

If it's not this it would probably be a good idea to contact the laptop manufacturer rather than Jes, as they may have Irish outlets that could sort you out better than sending the machine ack to jes.
