Replacement wing mirror (electric) for Megane

My wing mirror got a smack recently (Megane '02)
    It is heated/electrically controlled. I understand I'll
need to get an entire replacement and the colour
coded part of it will need to be painted to match
    the car colour.

I don't have a lot of time to spare with work
commitments. Is this something which I could
have pre-ordered and painted at a Renault dealers
and then just call in and have fitted in a matter of
minutes or is it a more involved job?
I'll phone my Renault dealer tomorrow but just
wondering if anyone had a feel for how I could
get this sorted quickly and hassle free..

I have found in the past that no matter how quick the job may take, dealers work at their own pace. Sorry.

Its unlikely your Renault dealer will do the actual painting - they will probably sub the whole job out to a body shop and then charge you a handling fee. Most paintshops take off the fuel filler flap and use it to match the touch-up paint so they will need your car while they do this.

That makes a lot of sense Interceptor .. thanks!
I'll just have to do without the car for a day by the sounds
    of things.
