Does anyone have experience with how long it takes for DVD's to be delivered form play.com? I got a dispatched parcel email from them the Saturday before last (23/10) but I still haven't gotten it. Its just 1 dvd.

Anyone know what mail service they use?

p.s. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but it is a film I've ordered that I'm wondering about. Mods feel free to move it if you think it should be somewhere else.

I have purchased hundreds of items from play.com over the years. I'm based in Dublin. It usually takes approx 5 working days for the goodies to arrive, but if that crosses a weekend, you might be looking at 7.

Worry not - they are excellent, dependable and very very customer focused.

Its not that I'm worried, just that I'm an impatient f**ker :D

Not gonna do anything till after tomorrow anyway. Was just wondering how long it usualy takes.

They have been slow recently, but they must have massive amounts to post out.
Also, iirc they ask that you wait two weeks before contacting them about deliveries.
My last one posted on 21/10 arrived on monday (1/11).

My girlfriend worked in their customer services for a year.

Once 14 days passes call them and they will post another immediately. Recently we just ordered two different DVD's.
Zatoichi arrived 4 days later. Sex and the City 6 arrived almost 8 days. Both were sent by normal post. If it costs more than 40 euro it is sent regisered.

they wont do anything until 14 days has expired though.

As a frame of reference, I just got yesterday a book posted on 21/10.... I dunno who is to blame for the recent slowdown but it's there. And of course it's not going to stop me buying from them for a moment.

I'm using them for about 2 years and would never expect delivery with 10 working days, its just the way they are. I love them by the way......

I'm finding it slow on and off these days... I'm still waiting on the new Enslaved album that was sent on the 29th, but Farscape Season 3 was sent on the 3rd and I received it on the 5th. Seems like there could be something slightly funky, but at the same time, could just be to do with the run up to christmas?

    i have Halo2 preordered(out on thursday the 11th)
how long should i wait, one fella said they ship it early 8th(today) but i dont know

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 18,115 ✭✭✭✭ShiverinEskimo

They normally are allowed ship so that it arrives on the day of release. They would have all the stock ready in advance. People in the UK will probably get it on the 11th if you preordered it in irleland you might be lucky but i would probably say if not the friday (doubtful) you will have to go another weekend and you should get it the monday. I lived in england and got anything preordered on the day of release. I have never preordered anything for delivery to ireland yet

I'm still waiting on HL2 from em, ya would think they'd make a special exeption for someone who's pre-booked since July of 2003 :D

Although I've no complaints of their shipping as of yet. They do slip up in other places
