Sky Plus - Am I getting the runaround.....

I live in a new development where everyone feeds into the one satellite dish. There is a clause in our contract to say we can't erect a satellite dish.

I asked the guy that installs sky about sky plus who said he'd look into it. They came back and said that they'd have to run another cable back to the satellite dish to achieve this. However, they were not prepared to do it for just one house. Therefore no can do.

Would this be true. Half of me suspects that they couldn't be arsed.

Sky+ requires 2 cables from the dish, for full functionality that is.

AFAIK the second cable is required so you can watch one thing while recording another.

If this is a local Sky contractor you could ring Sky directly (there is a Dublin number in the 01 phone book) and ask them. This would get around the "not arsed" excuse if it is that.

BTW, Sky+ is a winner. Love it. I could go on but I'm sure you know all about it.

Fcek. Thanks folks. Can't see what their issue with running two cables might be. I'm sure they could charge a non-standard installation fee.

    Cheers Tony,
I have a south facing balcony. That might be the trick. I'm sure I can manage to hide the dish. from view behind a flower pot or the likes.

Although I'm sure you were pointing at the technical solution.
