Hello all! Have been following the new TV series "The Long Way Round" [Sky 1- Mondays 9pm] where Ewan McGregor and his buddy are travelling from London to New York [via Asia] by motorcycle.
When I first saw the ad I was sceptical thinking it's only them trying to copy Ernesto "Che" Guevara's route [I'll admit now I want to travel south america, and even now London-NY, so I'm guilty of my own accusations!]
On this weeks episode, the pair travelled through Ukraine and accross Kazakhistan [ hope I spelt it rite].

Any of u watch it? I think it's crap that they have support vehicles, it's less adventuruous. Actors ehh?

the other guy is john boorman so, charlie boorman just as rich not as recognisable i felt sorry for them in the last episode they had met with the emabssy to make sure they'd get through but then they went overboard and had the police escort them throug most of the country, it was clear that ean didn't want that, although he did use his name to get free bikes etc...

20,000 miles ain't no joke its quite a good show...

i don't think anybody could do that trip without support vehicles

It's an interesting show and both the guys are pretty cool. They have had guns pulled on them twice already! They supposedly only meet up with the support vehicles at border crossings. They are on their own with the cameraman most of the time.

Yeah, the guy in a white lada pulled a revolver on them. They were worried that if there hadn't been another car coming what would have happened.

The open fields of Khazakhistan were pretty awesome!
