    No-insurance driver gets 25-year ban


    A MOTORIST caught driving without insurance for a second time was put off the road for a quarter of a century yesterday and told by the judge he never wanted him to drive again.

    James Martin (27), Buttercup Park, Darndale, in Dublin appeared before Judge John Coughlan at yesterday's sitting of Swords district court to answer to the charges.

    He admitted driving without insurance or a driver's licence and failing to produce the relevant documentation when stopped by gardai in Portmarnock last February.

    The court heard that Martin had previous convictions for having no insurance and drink driving.

    Do they expect this to stop him? He already had no licence. Now he cant get a licence. I don't see how this is going to be a huge problem for him.
