The bookmarks one is easy use the Bookmarks Synchronizer extension

The easiest option for the mail would be to use IMAP from one of the machines and POP from the other

There's a page here on keeping different copies of outlook synched. The briefcase method could work for you, but you could copy the brifcase across using your network connection instead of a zip disk or USB key.

Well, you could put your Firefox profile on a USB memory stick and carry that around with you. You would then just have to configure each firefox installation to use the profile on the usb pen. The problem with this is that USB pens have a maximum number of times that they can be written to, I am not sure what it is but you may end up going through a lot of USB pens.

If the laptop and PC are on the same network then you could just make your firefox profile a network share and have both installations use the same location.

You have to install the extension from http://update.mozilla.org, then on the extensions dialog select it and Options. The configuration is pretty straight forward, but you will need a location on a server somewhere that you upload the XML file to.

I have it working with firefox on my laptop at work and my PC at home and it works great, it only takes a second to download or upload all of my bookmarks.
