    Hi

Thinking of purchasing a couple of LCD monitors from jes.de (the prices are too good not to) and I was wondering if anyone here has purchased from them before, how they found them, if they had any problems returning stuff etc?

    Thanks
    Ardent

As you said the prices are great, so is the service and support, the only thing you might not like is that they use GLS for delivery. GLS now have a bit of a reputation on boards for not being the most punctual, but if your not in a hurry then i would strongly recommend purchasing from Jes-computer. :D

I used them, delivery took about a week after they recieved the money.
Had to rma a mobo, took just over a month which i think is far to long, now i have a gfx cardd to rma as well :(

Why what was wrong with them, i've built and owned a lot of PC's and am always upgrading and have never once RMA'd anything... you can't expect everyrthing to happen instantly, especially when your dealing with a company in another country.. TBH i think there service is better than most companys in this country.

I recently bought an LCD monitor, a motherboard, cpu etc.. The whole process takes a while cos you have to wait for your money to transfer over to them.

The motherboard was doa and in the process of trying to figure out why I managed to blow the chip (first time ever to do that! love that smell of napalm in the morning ;) ) I was well pissed off. Thing is tho, it was a cheapo mobo, first time ever trying a real cheap one (ASRock) and it was so cheap it didn't seem worth the hassle and expense of rma'ing it. So I threw it out and ordered a new one from Komplett. The thing with Komplett is that they have a Dublin address for RMAs so its much less hassle.

Aside from that tho, the other stuff was fine - LCD, which I was especially worried about as you can imagine, was lovely. So if price is key and you can deal with the longish wait and any potential rma hassle, then go for it. If price isn't absolutely key, go Komplett with DHL delivery...

(BTW, GLS delivery has previously delivered stuff into the care of a neighbour on the opposite side of the street and two doors up! In inner suburban Dublin, that's like dropping in the next town ;) )

I ordered a PC case and Power supply and settled with PayPal. The case was in stock, but the power supply wasn't, so they waited a couple of weeks before shipping the lot.
Got a spindle of CDRs and a mouse mat for the delay (without asking).
For my next 'higher risk' purchases (CPU, GPU), I'll order closer to home in case I have warranty issues ...

Well the mobo just died, no oc-ing involved.
And then my gfx last week, was oc-ed and had arctic cooler, not oc to much as it could have gone further.
But their service is good, fast reply to e-mails and quite helpfull.

It can take a while to get to you using the bank transfer but it's worth it, if only for the savings, GLS will get it to you in about a week after they take delivery of the package.

That's REALLY not on. One week? They should be getting it to the customer one or two days after they receive the package in Ireland. GLS are nothing but a bunch of cowboys.

I have bought a lot of high value stuff from them including the "machine from hell" and mainboards and cpu's etc
and have not had problems , gls are okay i just track the stuff on their website
and have not had any major delays with them (yet)
but all in all so far so good

Thanks for the replies folks. Unfortunately, I screwed up my credit card on PayPal while trying to enter the Expanded Use Number - PayPal now refuses to accept my credit card.

Has anyone bought from Jes using the Money Order option? It looks very complicated, I'm a bit dubious about it.

the money order isnt as complicated as it looks, as long as you can get to your bank i suppose. go to the foreign exchange and ask an international money transfer form. once you have the IBAN, swift code etc (you get them on the order confirmation page) the form is simple enough. takes an extra couple of days to process the order though as opposed to the paypal method.

cant comment on delivery as yet as they as dragging their heels sending the stuff out atm.
