in the office here we've had a few dell laptops ...

and I'm sorry to say ... we've had ... hard disk failures ... a few times ... on the same machine :( ... modem failure ... wrong spec machines shipped...

that said ... dell have been very help full from the support end ... in fixing up the problems .. still ... though .. its taken a while to get all the issues sorted out so definitely go with a 3 year support agreement ..

to be honest if I was getting one I'd probably go with a dell ... for their support .. even after all the problems ...

    No experience with Toshiba's ..

but thats just my two donuts...

Just to point out, there is a very big difference in the quality of service and support given to business users and home users. If you are ordering through the home channel you will not get the same type of after sales quality that business users get.

Saying that I have a dell laptop, but toshiba do have a reputation for fantastic laptops.

Toshiba is the world leader in laptop computing. I had one a few year ago and it took many a fall and stood up to it well (very well built).

    Dell sucks the big one.

But to be honest I would not but either of them, both are reasonably expensive and you could get a machine with the same power and display for much less.

    Look at some Acer laptops.
