What's the story with all the single decker 17 buses in the morning?
I was getting one this morning and 2 single decker 17 buses went through full at Rathfarnham. (this is about 7.45am) Then when a double decker finally came there were only 2 free seats. Kinda annoying.
Anyone else hate the 17 too?

The Mount Merrion Ave residents counted the number of patrons on the 17 and decided that there was nobody using it. Go figure.

It is only recently that the 17 has been mainly double-decker, for many years it had single deck buses.

For most of the day a single deck is more than adequate on the 17, only a few peak services would benefit from a larger bus.

So you're saying there isn't enough capacity on the route? Presumably this is because there aren't enough buses overall rather than anything to do with the 17.

It's just in the mornings, and at about 4pm. Most people who use the route use it to get to/from school/college.

As far as I can tell the 17 just disappears into potholes or something cos it's never around when it's meant to be
