Anyone know how to make links (in emails for example) open in a new tab if Firefox is running? On Windows that is.

For a straightforward link, if it's in an existing Firefox window, hold down the CTRL key when you click on the link.

If you are clicking on a link in a mail this will not work as it's a seperate program. Unless possibly you are using the mozilla mail client. BUt I don't run it so I can't say for sure there.

I checked this out a few months ago and I couldn't figure out any way to do it I'm afraid ... there wasn't any javascript / nice little hack to do it. Don't know if anything's changed in recent times but I doubt it

Yeah, I twigged that after I posted and edited it out. I don't know how that popped into my head. Must be seeing things at this hour of the morning.

This may help....I have something at home that will do this. I can't remember the name of the extension though I'll tell you later :D

there is an extension that makes ALL links open in a new tab in the one window, but i can't remember what its called. It'd be worthwhile scanning through the available extensions (won't take more than 5 mins) and you should spot it.
