Anyone here from the greater dublin area? I think we lack a decent gamers community website. Anyone else agree? Ive really been lax in painting for the last few months mainly cos im the only person out of all my friends who actually has an active interest in the hobby (40k in particular). Twould be nice to know a few local people who i could discuss it with and not feel like a geek or get wierd looks from them.

Have you tried college societies? Not all of them require members to be students, and there are certainly a couple of organisations there that are wargaming freaks. I've met a couple...

Also, try www.northernwasters.com . They have a contingent based in Dublin, I believe...

It could be worse mate, you could live in Fermanagh, in whichs its the case of instead of you not knowing anyone who collects it, no1 collects it at all. Theres 1 retailer in the whole of Fermanagh for Warhammer stuff, and thats 1 shelf in a modelling shop thats sells old £5 squad box's, and a few of the main box game. So needless to say, there wont exactly be a tournament up this way anytime soon.....

That northen wasters thing is only WFB sarky. Cheers anyway. Sucks about the fermanagh thing pugsley. I suppose i should be happy with a GW only a 25 minute bus ride away.

Do you go into the Guild on a Wednesday night? We've a good 40k group there, with a fair variety of armies to pit yourself against.

On a similar note, does anyone know of anywhere in Westmeath that has any sort of 40kers?

@CrimsonFire: 25 minutes? Lucky you! I have to take an Hour long bus ride!

Well I am living in Newbridge and gave my 40k Ultra Marines to a friends child when I moved from Tipperary. Am looking to start a new army though. Perhaps chaos space marines or even the Orks. not strong but they come in force.

Also where in Dublin would I be able to buy these? Can you get them in Tallaght?
If you want pm me details.

I have quite a nice Chaos army, their rather fun to play with, and if you have a bit of money you can splash out on some super s*xy defilers, as well as that amasing Forge World only Bloodthirster (pics here: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/bloodt.htm). Obliterators are always fun to have about too :)

Runfree, use mail order, P&P is pretty cheap if your getting a big order (flat rate on P&P), good service, unlimited selection, and fast delivery. I would say about 80% of my army was got through mail order.

Cheers Pugsley. On to the next thing so. Which army to collect. think I'll start a new thread for this
