I've been playing with my friends for over a year now and it's not really goin anywhere so I wanna form a new band. A good one. I'm 17 and I play bass (and a little guitar, but I'm not good enough to play that in a band) and I've been playing it for 2 years now.

I'm into Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Pixies, The Smiths, Bell x1 and Elliott Smith. I'm looking for 2 guitarists, a singer and drummer. If any guitarists out there can play keyboard or sing as well that'd be simply wonderful. I want guitarist with weird effects (eg Johnny Marr or Johnny Greenwood) rather than endless solos (eg Slash, Kirk Hammett). I know I'm being awfully specific, but I'm just like that.

I've been playing about 3-4 years now. Own a nice imitation les paul guitar (Tanglewood). Radiohead and the pixies would also be big influences on me, with a bit of bell X1 (only found out about them recently).

I love the whole effects thing, but i don't own many good pedals. I have a distortion i want to replace. Its more of a metal distortion, i prefer blues distortion (if you know what i mean), and i have a multi-effects pedal, which ain't great.

If you mean "endless solos" as in the whole eric clapton type thing, thats definately not my style. I'd be more into melodic picking, if that makes sense

I also did play keyboard for 4 years (from about 5th class to 2nd year secondary school ish). I can't remember a lot of the chords now, but i could pick it up again fairly easily i'd think. I still play it occasionally, but never composed songs on the keyboard. I was about up to grade 5 in standard, but never did any grade exams because my teacher did no theory.

Where abouts are you based? I'm in the rathfarnham area, and know another guitarist friend of mine who might be interested in playing aswell, if it works out. Gimme a PM incase i forget to check back here.

I have been playing guitar for about 2 years now,can easily handel rytham and can throw in a bit of lead but I would be more suited as the second guitarist,based in rathfarnham,like all your influences and also people like the strokes and the libertines,big into Elliott Smith,let me know if you would be interested in setting something up

I'm not going to fake influences so you'll want to join, but it's like pixies, pumpkins, dinosaur jr., the cure, lemonheads, guided by voices. Most people have **** influences but ****, i love elliot smith and the drummer likes smiths and radiohead a lot. It's drums and two guitarists now, one of which sings, we need a bassist to start gigging see. The jams are in Blackrock and we're all 17.
