The website is confusing but I believe that if you only want a viewing card they will charge you GB£17 or GB£150 annually. And to activate the card, they charge an additional GB£17.50. It sounds alot of money to receive non-subscription channels!
But the biggest issue for you is how to marry the card to your set-top box? In Britain, it can be done 2 ways:
    1) connect the box to a phone line, use the installation menu & then disconnect the phone line
    2) phone Sky & advise them of your STB serial number
Because of the marriage issue, I expect that is why this website wants you to buy a STB from them. They put the card in a brand-new box, activate the card & send STB/card to you. Before despatching, they can confirm the card is active & will work in the nominated box.

Have you heard that Sky are now selling FTV cards for GB£20? It is only available via a dedicated phone number 0870 6061111. I understand that you can't phone 0870 numbers from outside UK? Can you ask a UK relative to phone on your behalf & then post the card to you? This way is cheaper than than the website.

As regards the 0870 numbers, you can dial these directly from ROI no problem. Had to do so last night. One major word of warning - these FTV cards are for UK TV Licence holders AFAIK - so when calling -

    1) Withhold sending of Caller ID - either thru your mobile (Easy) or your landline - you need a prefix (it is 141 before the number)
    2) get a UK address for them to post it to (for reasons above)

Sorry now. Are you saying that I could get a friend in England with Sky Digital to ring the above number, order a card for £20.00,then post it to me and I could just swap my Irish digibox viewing card put in the English card and then have access to Ch4 and ITV Surely it can't be that easy.
Wouldn't Sky question why someone with digital sat would want the freeview card?
I could do this easy. I want access to Ch4 for the racing as the racing channel has gone subscription at €30.00 per moth but you have to take it out for 12 months. This would the answer to everything
    Please get back to me
