Ftp problem.

    Ok I'm having trouble connecting to an ftp server. I have enterted all the details correctly in ftpLeech and even tried it in ie (haven't converted to firefox yet) but I get the same error message.
    500 I won't open a connection to "ip here" (only to "ip here")
    ~ Could not retrieve directory listing for "/"

    Any ideas. I tried removing the firewall but no luck.

    Try using Port mode (active mode?) as compared to passive mode (pasv). That can cause problems sometimes. Also, i've noticed firefox has severe problems with FTP servers, it can rarely download the directory list successfully.

    I use SmartFTP, so i know that has the Port mode option.

    What kind of FTP are you connecting to .. seems like your IP is'nt regestered, is it a news group or something, if it is you just can't connect you need to be registered mate.. news groups don't let any tom and jew in.
