what is the role that has you in stitches every time you watch the movie? I think Jack Black as Barry (the fat guy) who worked in the record store in High Fidelity was the funniest I have ever seen. Any other good ones?

Even my mother when she saw "HiFi" couldn't stop laughing!! He seemed to have the appropriate retort for every eventuality.

[No plug intended smile.gif] I did this site last year. Its a bit of a 5 min job but you might enjoy it!!

Dr Gonzo, played by Benicio Del Toro in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".

    Rob.

nice one... another person who appreciates high fidelity to the extent it deserves biggrin.gif
if you want to see more of jack black, read my old post that didn't really interest ppl at the time:
    http://www.boards.ie/bulletin/Forum14/HTML/000803.html

i saw rushmore at the cinema the day it came out, and those 2 red-heads are funny alright. the Tommy Boy character from Black Sheep (i dont' know if its the same as the one in Tommy Boy) is abolustly hilarious as well, and it probably takes 2nd place to Jack Black.

/me makes mental note to watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

    TO illkillya:

Yeh I've heard about Tenacious D alrite. JB has a very dustinctive voice as seen in HIFI w/ the "Lets Get it On" Thang! I think theres a movie coming out about this sort of 4 piece band w/ Jb in it. Heard about it a while back back but must check up on the imdb.com again.
If you're looking to get a cheap version of HiFi on DVD or Video, I just bought a previously viewed DVD copy for £8.99 in Music City in Dun Laoighre.

    BTW....

    Where did you see Rushmore??
The Screen, D'olier Street around August '99 perhaps ???

Saw it the 1st week myself- On the Sunday in fact. Its a great movie - I actually got a copy of it in music City as well!! Its a brill place for cheap stuff!

    Oh yeah....
I suppose I should mention some funny roles...
Well what about Buckin ["The Scotch Ape"] and of course Herman Bloom (Bill Murray). GOd theres really loads of side splitters in Rushmore. The bit where there out to dinner w/ the Doctor is hilarious when Max takes the piss out of him. ["OR are they ??"]
    80p.

Stop that ! Your giving the same answer that i always give. Add the rabbit from Monthy Python And The Holy Grail to that by the way. And Docter Rumak (Leslie Nielsen) in Airplane. So brilliantly straightfaced, its genius..

Oh yes!, for plastic and I (amongst others)paid tribute to the film by acting out core scenes during a study session for our exams last year. What a brilliant performance from the Rabbit (played by Jimmy).

Or the hospital scene where he's trying to explain the boat full of drugs. smile.gif

"Elwood and I will come here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, every day of the week"

He was also pretty good in Animal House, although he didnt have many lines in that film beyond "toga! toga!", the guitar smashing bit was a classic though smile.gif

It's a pity his career was cut short so early frown.gif
