    Hullo there!

I have a laptop which is in bad need of repair - I've had it for 4 years in December, and it has been broken for a lot of that time.

Anyway - it seems to be a software issue from what I can tell. However, it could be something to do with the hard drive, I'm not entirely sure.

I believe it happened when I was attempting to reformat - but my memory is fairly cloudy as I tend to tinker with my computers in something of a semi-wakened state.

Ultimately, I was wondering could anybody advise a reliable repair outlet?

    Thanks!

Well, if it's just software you may want to save yourself some money and try it yourself? It isn't too hard to format and reinstall an operating system. Damn easy actually. Do you have the cd's that came with your computer?

Hey Mark :) thanks for the reply. Yeah I've tried it repeatedly - but to no avail - then I eventually gave up. That was about a year ago.

I tried installing Windows98, which originally came with it - but just when it looked like it would work - the hard drive would just keep clicking and whirring with no action.

Did you try other OS'? Windows 2000? XP? Even Linux?
