So who were you're "pin-ups" growing up. Who had the privilege to be stuck on your bedroom wallpaper ;)

    Here's just some of mine:

    Madonna (my Idol)
    Bros :o
East 17 (fav was Brian Harvey)
    Brother Beyond
Take That (only for Robbie though :) )
    New Kids on the Block
The Cure (for some reason I thought Robert Smith was sexy! - loved their music though)
    Technotronic
Betty Boop (she was so sexy we all wanted to look like her)
Neneh Cherry (got a spiral perm to try look like her)
    Milli Vanilli
    Prince

That's all I can think of now...

    Pamela Anderson.

I wasn't much into pop music, and preferred to spend my money on sweets. I had Iron Maiden posters on my wall. You can't really call Eddie much of a pin-up

quick question, what do/did you use to keep the posters on the ceiling?

bloody blue tac kept loosing it's grip :( tumtacks...**** to keep in :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,010 ✭✭✭littleninja

I used blue tac - I would hammer it up with my fists and the posters would usually stop falling off after a while....

Taking them down was a bitch though because the blue tac had hardened and it was like trying to peel wallpaper off the ceiling.

I've gone all artistic in my 20's and put up a giant copy of the Pink Floyd Back Catalogue, Salvador Dali's Swans Reflecting Elephants, and a Feeder poster hanging around somewhere. Above my computer, I have an absolutely giant poster of the cover art for Mansun's Six. Genius!

Alison Clarkson - the girl who sang "Doin the Do". I had long black hair and was gonna get it cut in the bob to try be like her. She was so sexy and I loved her video.

I had a gigantic promotional poster of Enya's Watermark taking up a whole wall of my bedroom, (rescued it from the Virgin Megastore... some gimp who was changing the window display was throwing it into a skip).
Absolutely beautiful album cover / poster... still have it safely rolled up in a cardboard tube in the attic :)

    In (roughly) Chronological Order:

A Knightrider poster with David Hasselhof in front of KITT.
    A Porsche 911
    A Lambourghini Countech
    Interview With a Vampire
    Leon
    Pulp Fiction
    Trainspotting "Choose Life"
A couple of hundred beer mats

Have one poster still on the wall of my bedroom in my Mother's house. A photo collage of the Beatles in Sgt. Peppers garb.

I was just cleaning out my house and I found a found an original "Sonic The Hedgehog" release poster folded up in the dustiest megadrive box in history! It's in fantastic condition except where it was folded some of the seams have, erm, decomposed with age but a little tape will fix that right up. Nostalgic goldmine! :D
I've just got an Akira poster up atm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Kêrmêttê

DO NOT PUT SELLOTAPE ON ANYTHING!!!

You will decrease the collectors value of the poster / book / game box etc.
Leave it as it is... it'll be worth more in the future if you ever go to sell it.
