Hi, me and the girlfriend are looking to go to NY next year, hopfully close to xmas but if not then in august sometime... i was just wondering if its better to get a package deal or get the flights and hotels seperate? which would work out cheaper if going for a week? and wheres the best place to book?

    Thanks ;)

I don't think it makes a huge difference any more, the markets are so competitive. I've been a couple of times, and I've always booked the flights and hotels separately. I've used hotres.com and hotelaccommodations.com. Apparently 60% of all hotel rooms booked in the US are booked through these discount sites. Some of them do five nights for the price of four etc. I wouln't go in August - it'll be way too hot.
